ILGA-EUROPE'S LGBT FAMILIES QUESTIONNAIRE

logo

During 2010, ILGA-Europe -the European Region of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (http://www.ilga-europe.org/)- will review its strategy concerning LGBT families in order to draw clearer targets for progress on both European and national levels, as well as draw its third Strategic Plan for the period of 2011-2014. In order to advocate for family rights and recognition effectively, ILGA-Europe is conducting a research study among its national/local members and other LGBT family organisations from across Europe to learn directly from them the preferred strategy and discourse to be used at a European level.

This study is being developed by an independent team and is targeting LGBT family organisations, LGBT associations, and other organisations dealing with LGBT issues (trade unions, human rights associations, etc.). Academics and social scientists are also being invited to share their opinions.

In order to get a greater overview of LGBT families and their situation in all 49 European countries, we invite you to take 30-45 minutes to fill in this questionnaire. We ask you to please respond to the following questions from the point of view of your organisation by filling in the 10 different issues concerning LGBT families into which this questionnaire is divided:

  1. Defining family
  2. Same-sex couples and other life arrangements
  3. Becoming LGBT parent
  4. Being an LGBT parent
  5. Education
  6. Material concerns
  7. Symbolic
  8. Trans families
  9. European institutions
  10. Action priorities

Feel free to respond to the questionnaire in English or in any of the following languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese or Italian. You can fill in the questionnaire by downloading this Word document (link to the document) and emailing it to the following address when completed: info@lgbtfamilies.eu

If you complete different parts of the questionnaire at different moments, please do so from the same computer, so that the site can identify the different parts of the questionnaire that belong to the same person using an automatically generated identifier (cookie). That means that if you have already answered issues number 1-4, you can go directly to issue number 5 the next time you return to fill out the questionnaire. Additionally, you can always go backward and forward and even re-answer completed questions if you have changed your mind. We will use only your last answers in our data
